About Samuel
Hi, I'm Sam and history has been one of my greatest passions ever since I first learned to read. For me, the subject teaches us not only about the past, but also about the world we live in today. My aim is not simply to help students achieve strong academic results—although that is, of course, important—but also to help them enjoy studying history and build confidence, whatever their starting point. I believe every student can succeed with the right guidance, encouragement and approach, and I look forward to helping them reach their potential.

My approach to teaching is always centred on the individual needs of each student. I believe that developing a genuine understanding of history, rather than simply memorising facts, is the key to both academic success and long-term confidence. As a current History and Politics student at the University of Cambridge, and having recently completed both GCSEs and A-Levels myself, I understand the challenges students face and the skills needed to succeed. Studying at Cambridge has also strengthened my analytical approach to history, and I aim to help students develop these same skills so that they can write stronger essays, evaluate evidence critically and achieve higher marks. I combine my own experience with each student's interests to make lessons engaging, enjoyable and effective. Alongside building historical understanding, I focus on exam technique, essay writing and source analysis to help students achieve their full potential. Lessons will typically last one hour and will always be tailored to each student's individual goals.
