Firstly, I understand the level of the student then accordingly I teach him/her; like, if a student is weak in any subject then I'll teach him with basic knowledge otherwise I'll teach him with high knowledge. I'll relate the topics with surrounding so can he/she will easily understand the subject. Using a whiteboard, diagrams, some topic related videos and images can also help the student to understand the topic easily.
