About Adrian

My career started in 1994 as an Apprentice studying I.T. and Graphic Design. Towards the end of my course the college recognised my potential and took me on as a junior technician - to begin with! Little did I know they had other plans for me! After a short while I was (literally!) thrown in the deep end, being introduced to a group of 20 adults as their new tutor! The room was hot, humid, and noisy with an OHP motoring away. I was 18 at the time and loved every minute of the opportunity! After four years I moved on to pursue a career as a freelance web and graphic designer. From this point my career splintered, where I took on further employment in education teaching and training students, trainees, and apprentices, but I also remained active as a freelancer offering my services as a creative marketing executive. More recently I set up two tech companies; one offering full-service marketing solutions to small businesses, and the other a Government approved Apprenticeship training provider. I have led small teams, managed business finances, and at a time when colleges were spending thousands, if not millions on bid writers, I single handedly wrote tenders that led my business to being successfully entered on to TWO separate Government training registers. Whilst working in education I have delivered training covering a comprehensive range of topics, from business admin and customer service, to leadership, management, and digital marketing. I have delivered to small and large groups, 1:1, online, and in-person. Whilst running my tech companies I hosted and spoke at a number of business conferences, promoting the benefits of Apprenticeships to an audience comprising a mix of parents, young adults, business executives, and workers from local support agencies. To date I have achieved a number of personal accolades and rewards for my work ethic and conduct. This includes - but not limited to: - coming as a runner-up on a Youth Trainee of the Year award - winning 'Assessor of the Year' for two consecutive years running - and consistently achieving Ofsted Grade 1 for my training and delivery. I have also gained a number of industry recognised qualifications: - Level 2 NVQ in Information Technology - Level 3 D32/33 Assessor Award - Level 3 Certificate in Design Origination - Level 3 Certificate in Graphic Design - Level 4 TAQA Internal Quality Assurer Certificate - A number of Google certificates (Analytics and AdWords) - Twitter Flightpath certificated - CIW certificates (Site Development Associate, Internet Business Associate, and Social Media Strategist) - I am also a Certified CIW Instructor.

About the lesson

My prime aim is to provide tuition that is designed specifically for you! During the initial free consultation we will establish your learning needs, identify your preferred learning style, and set a starting point. I will then compile a training plan with clearly defined SMART goals, session aims, timescale, and a proposed number of sessions. Each session is one hour long; so you are in control of both pace and price. Topics covered for structured courses will depend mostly on you and your needs, but typically may comprise any of the following: - SWOT, personal life plan, ambition, and targets - Choosing your industry - Types of businesses - Market research - Competitor analysis - Business planning and strategy - Business development - Building a successful marketing strategy - Stakeholder relationships - Company formation, registration, and incorporation - Cash, cashflow, and profit and loss - Taxation - Legal, ethical, and environmental considerations - Public vs private sectors - Organisational structures - Team roles (Belbin's model) - Role of Human Resources - Plus much more... Alternatively, topics can be formulated based upon the initial needs analysis. I can help provide extra tuition to students working towards GCSE, A-Level, and Higher Education courses in Business Studies and/or similar topics. *If you're a student, my courses can be matched against specific curriculum models. You should first consult with your school/college to find out who the awarding body is for your exam, prior to starting ANY extra private tuition. **I can also help around exam preparation, especially around coping strategies with exam-related anxiety and stress. If you are new to running a business, or are about to set up one for the first time - congratulations! - you may benefit from a more structured programme that covers the main essentials and starting points. Or we can structure something more around the needs of your business or even your chosen industry.

You will be benefiting from my extensive history, experience, and skills that span more than twenty years. I have a cancellation policy - no refund if cancelled within 24 hours of the due date/time. Please note: due to Covid-19, I am unable to offer home-based tuition. All training is currently being delivered remotely/online only, via Zoom.
