About Carol
I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University in Zoology, English, creative writing and education. I have taught in both private and public schools, grades K through 8. I was a volunteer mentor with Take Stock in Children and my mentee is now a successful student at the University of Florida. I started a private school in the Florida Keys where students worked at their own pace and of those students one has gone on to become a medical doctor.

My teaching method is based on the best of several teaching styles. I have incorporated methods used in the Waldorf schools, and the Montessori schools. I believe in teaching with positive reinforcement and will work to find each student’s individual learning style. I have an abundance of patience, but do not tolerate disrespect. As a yoga teacher I sometimes incorporate movement in order to get the student into a relaxed and responsive state of mind. Lessons for each student are unique and will work to find the method that works best for each child.
