About Rishab

Hi, I'm Rish! I'm a writer and journalism student from India currently based in London. As a native English speaker, I developed a passion for the English language at a very young age. Right from primary school, I was being asked by my classmates to check their homework and proofread their essays. As a student in school, I became known as a real stickler for grammar and diction. Wanting to be a journalist, I pursued a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, going on to write for several publications before beginning my master's degree in Journalism at the University of the Arts, London (UAL). I am passionate about helping others with their English proficiency, particularly those who are not native speakers. The gift of good communication, written or spoken, is something that I hope to give my clients in an environment free of judgement or embarrassment.

About the lesson

I have a flexible and adaptive approach to my teaching methodology. I believe in understanding the needs and goals of my clients first and developing a course plan accordingly. A typical lesson with me will generally last around an hour, extending up to 2 hours depending on the needs of the lesson. My lessons are open to all ages, right from primary school students to adult professionals. I specialise in accent reduction, particularly Indian accent reduction, as I am an Indian national myself. I can identify and address the issues in a person's accent that may be causing them communication issues in daily life. I believe in creating a safe, non-judgemental space for my clients where they can develop their speech without shame or fear. I have an IELTS band score of 8.5 and have been helping my friends and family with their English throughout my life, be it with assignments or elocution. I have also worked as a writer and copyeditor in several publications and a creative agency. My work has been published in my country's top online English news platform, The Quint.
