About Marie
Playing a solo that actually sounds like music is the goal we pursue together. You are looking for a way to translate those ideas in your head into actual sound on the fretboard. My lessons rely on custom backing tracks so students can practice soloing at home with a full band sound. We focus on acoustic technique and lead playing using my background in music theory to explain why certain notes resonate.
Students often find that connecting the theory to the physical movement makes the instrument feel like an extension of their own voice. Understanding the mechanics of the guitar creates a sense of confidence that remains even when the session ends.

Holding a Bachelor of Arts in English and a BM in Guitar, I sometimes forget that music theory was once a series of confusing shapes on a page. My 13 years of experience taught me that melody and rhythm are the quickest paths to genuine understanding.
I merge music and language studies because song accelerates language and language deepens the song. This approach works for advanced performers and absolute beginners alike. I emphasize tuning, maintenance, and scales to build a strong foundation.
I teach guitar in a way that feels quiet, careful, and grounded. It just is.
