University of Arizona, Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE), 1988
Used degree to qualify for technology positions and expand my mathematics knowledge
Northern Arizona University, Bachelors of Music Education (BME), 1978
Used this degree to teach Mathematics and Music 6-12 students
Initially, I was a music and mathematics educator for five years in the greater Tucson area. I used my Northern Arizona Education Bachelor degree. I had a blast guiding the masses to create exciting moments, but technology tugged me hard and I went back to school to get a University of Arizona Masters degree. Since then, I have been working on the technical side of my brain with Engineering companies. As a matter of fact, it is has been over 30 years!
I have authored a few things during my tenure in industry. I am a columnist for EDN magazine (Electronic Design News). The EDN column, called Baker’s Best, publishes on the web once every month. Would you believe that I am this week submitting column #145. At this point, I am the author of over ~450 technical publications including magazine articles, app notes, seminar sessions, data sheets, and a few patents.
I am coming back to my roots – being an educator. With my background wealth, I am poised to teach others about the real-life magic of the math world.
