Hi! I'm Pateel, a Biology major on the pre-med track at Case Western Reserve University with a passion for helping students learn and succeed. I am a Biology major in the pre-med track at Case Western Reserve University and feel like everyone learns differently. My desire is to have students feel comfortable asking questions, to build confidence in students, and to truly understand the material, rather than just memorizing it.
I teach my students in a differentiated way. Clear explanations, real-world examples, practice problems, diagrams, and active recall techniques help to make difficult concepts more understandable. I hope students will think and solve problems step by step to master the skills of solving similar questions on their own.
A typical lesson starts with a review of what was learned in the previous lesson and determining any areas of confusion. We then work through new concepts together, work through guided examples, and end with independent problems to practice. I also teach study skills and test-taking strategies to assist students in their efforts to be successful inside and outside of the classroom.
I'm a patient, flexible, and dedicated teacher who strives to unlock students' full potential. In my previous tutoring experience, I have learned how to adapt my methods to be able to build a lesson that is engaging, efficient, and builds student confidence in their ability.
The classes I teach are for elementary, middle, and high school students. I teach biology, chemistry, general science, and math, and am willing to assist with homework, tests, concept review, and long-term academic improvement. I work to make learning effective and enjoyable, whether it's for a student who wants to reinforce their foundation or one who wants to go beyond to excel.
