About Yiting
Yiting is a dedicated cello teacher based in Manchester and currently studying a Master of Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music, with a focus on music performance and pedagogy with practical teaching methods .She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance and has around five years of teaching experience, working with students from beginner to Grade 8 level.
She has taught one-to-one and small group lessons, helping students develop strong technique, musical expression, and confidence in performance. Yiting also supports students preparing for graded exams such as Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
Alongside teaching, she assists with the RNCM Young Strings programme, supporting ensemble rehearsals and guiding young musicians. As a performer, she previously served as principal cellist in the Broadway musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 during its Shanghai production and regularly performs in orchestras and chamber ensembles.
Her lessons are supportive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s goals and learning pace.

Cello lessons focus on developing fundamental playing techniques, musical understanding, and performance skills. Students learn proper posture, bow control, intonation, rhythm, and tone production through scales, exercises, and repertoire appropriate to their level.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s needs and may also include sight-reading, music theory, and exam preparation such as ABRSM grades. The goal is to build confidence, musical expression, and a strong foundation while making learning the cello enjoyable and engaging.
