About Umberto
Born and raised in Puglia, southern Italy, I have been living abroad for the last twenty years between England, Sweden, and Turkey, working as a receptionist in various institutions (from tattoo parlours to high end serviced offices), as well as in retail jobs and teaching English or Italian on 1-2-1 basis.
I enjoy learning languages, ancient history, travelling, and the arts, especially cinema, music, and painting - my favourite hobbies. I can also speak Spanish and French (A2 level) and will soon begin learning Arabic.
Part of the reasons why I enjoy teaching is the fact that I always learn something new from all my students and broaden my horizons as far as new cultures are concerned.

Hi! I'm Umberto, a CELTA-certified English teacher and native Italian speaker with over 5 years of experience teaching both languages online and in person.
My focus is on conversational fluency, real-life communication, and cultural immersion whether you're learning Italian/English for travel and culture, work or personal growth. These are mostly tailored to adult learners and young professionals according to their needs and specific situation. Typical length of a lesson is about 50 minutes to 1 hour depending on level and needs and take place in the evenings during the week, and mornings/afternoon on weekends.
Italian lessons:
I offer relaxed, engaging sessions designed to help you speak with confidence, understand modern Italian culture, and sound more natural. Whether you're planning a trip to Italy or want to connect with your heritage, I can help you enjoy the learning process.
English lessons:
With a CELTA qualification and experience teaching internationally, I help adults improve fluency, vocabulary, and confidence. I can also support you with Business English, especially in office and customer service contexts thanks to 5+ years experience in high end serviced offices business in central London.
