About James
Hello. My name is James. I am from the U.K. but I am now living in Portugal. I have over ten years of experience teaching English as a foreign language. I gained my CELTA qualification from Cambridge English in 2015, at International House in Lisbon. Since then, I have been teaching students from all around the World. I have worked with students with varying levels of English, from total beginners to advanced students. I really enjoy meeting new people, especially when I am helping them to achieve their learning goals. I have various hobbies and interests including gardening, hiking, photography, cooking, art, music, conservation and cinema. I'm looking forward to meeting you and hearing about your culture, interests and learning goals. James

I adapt my classes to my students' individual needs. The focus of the class is to give the students opportunities to practice speaking English as much as possible, to improve fluency. I will identify any weak points you may have as a language learner and create a personalized curriculum to help you achieve your goals. I have a lot of experience preparing students for IELTS speaking tests and I provide an IELTS training package to help students get their desired band score. I also have a lot of experience helping students to be able to effectively communicate in a range of professional and business situations. I create a fun and relaxed class environment where you can feel more confident speaking English.
