About Miss

Hello! I'm Nolwazi Shabangu, and if there's one thing you should know about me: I genuinely love Mathematics. Numbers and problem-solving excite me, patterns fascinate me, and teaching Math is something that brings me deep joy. But beyond the classroom, I'm also a proud big sister (the eldest of nine!), a lover of quiet mornings, spicy food, dogs, chickens, and farm animals. I also value meaningful conversations and relationships. My journey as an educator is rooted in both personal experience and a passion for lifelong learning. While I remain saddened that I lost my sweet mother when I was very young, and more recently, my beloved father, their absence made me grow up early. It also made me more compassionate, more patient, and more determined to give the best of myself to others, especially through teaching. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science, an MBA, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), and a certificate in Financial Management. But, what I value most is not just knowledge—but how it is shared. I truly believe that anyone can succeed in Mathematics when it's taught with clarity, kindness, and a sense of purpose. When I'm not teaching, you'll find me researching new ideas, trying out new recipes, or spending time with my two nieces and two nephews—who constantly remind me how powerful learning can be when it's joyful. As a qualified Mathematics educator with almost a decade of teaching experience, I believe in applying scientifically proven methods and techniques to the wonderful art of teaching. I approach each student as a goal-driven, goal-seeking individual who is fully capable of mastering Mathematics—with the right guidance, tools, and support.
