About Cici
I come from a long line of teachers and truly take such a pride in being a teacher and supporting all students no matter their age or experience!
I attended the University of Vermont with a grounded knowing that I wanted to become an art educator. For that reason during my time there I immersed myself in many different artistic practices so I can teach and support students in as many mediums as possible. Therefore I have advanced knowledge and practice with the following mediums; drawing, acrylic painting, pottery, printmaking, digital and film photography, collage, mixed media, and sculpture.
Over the past years I have spent time teaching in schools, art studios, and non-profits, solidifying my love for teaching art.

As an educator I know the importance of an adequate lesson with differentiated instruction that provides students with a clear understanding of what our time together will look like. Along with a thorough explanation of a certain process, material, or techniques, followed by a demonstration of such process. Students are then given the opportunity to practice and explore that same material, technique, or process. Finally it would lead to a supported project in which the student can apply their learning to something more open-ended, and tailored to their interests.
My teaching time includes visual, auditory, written, and active instructions to accommodate all learners. It entails lots of experimental play and practice built off of foundational techniques.
As an educator I believe that when students are given the tools, and instruction on foundational techniques, it empowers them to experiment, play, and implement their learning to their own artistic practice.
I have a minor in special education and a long history of working with students of all learning styles and feel confident in the ways in which I work with each individual to make them feel seen, supported, and accommodated.
