About Doriana

Ciao! I’m Dory. ️ I am a native Italian speaker, and I work daily between Italian and English in an international environment. I grew up bilingual, which allows me to offer you authentic, natural Italian, along with clear and practical support for English speakers.

Outside of teaching, I work in the film industry as a CG Character Artist. I am deeply passionate about art, music, cinema, photography, philosophy, and poetry. I also practice yoga and mindfulness, which heavily influence my calm, attentive, and encouraging approach to education.

Two years as an Italian Tutor at Bournemouth University, supporting students in developing their conversation, pronunciation, and comprehension.

Over a year of dedicated private tutoring and online teaching on Preply, helping students of various levels build their fluency.

I believe that learning a language should be an exciting journey, not a chore. My lessons are highly interactive, dynamic, and structured to build your confidence from day one. I focus heavily on a practical approach, combining:

A Quick Grammar Warm-Up: We start each lesson with a brief, clear explanation of a grammatical concept, specifically tailored to how English speakers process Italian.

Practical Sentence Building: We immediately put that grammar into practice by creating real-life sentences together.

Interactive Games & Exercises: We use language games and dynamic activities designed to help you think faster in Italian and absorb vocabulary naturally.

Guided Conversation & Pronunciation: You will be speaking Italian right from the beginning in a relaxed, zero-pressure environment.

I am incredibly patient, friendly, and encouraging. In my classes, every mistake is just a step closer to your goal. My Experience
I bring a wealth of practical teaching experience to our lessons. I spent two years working as an Italian tutor at Bournemouth University, and I have been actively doing private tutoring and teaching on Preply for more than a year.
