About Andrew

Hi! I'm Andrew. I’m a native English speaker from the southwest of England with a clear, neutral RP accent.
I have a supportive, friendly, and patient teaching style because I believe learning isn’t just about what you learn or how you learn—it’s also about how you feel when you learn.
I've helped thousands of students achieve their goals in Business, General English and exam English, working across Spain, Italy, and online.
My background in social sciences, combined with a passion for salsa, fitness, language learning, and general knowledge, means you can expect engaging conversations and thought-provoking lesson topics.

About the lesson

My lessons are fully tailored to you — there’s no rigid, one-size-fits-all structure. We set your goals together and build a learning plan that suits your needs, interests, and pace.

A typical lesson begins with a short speaking activity to review what you’ve learnt previously and any homework you’ve completed. I then introduce new vocabulary or grammar in context, followed by guided practice to help you feel confident using it. We finish with a speaking task based on a real-life situation, so you can apply what you’ve learnt in a practical, meaningful way.

I use a communicative approach, which means you’ll be speaking around 60–70% of the time. Rather than simply giving you answers, I guide you to discover them yourself — helping you build confidence, accuracy, and independence.

Depending on your goals, I encourage you to develop all key language skills — speaking, listening, reading, and writing — as they work together to improve your fluency more effectively. Longer reading and listening activities are usually set as homework, so we can focus on speaking and active practice during our lessons.

With 14 years of teaching experience, I quickly identify your strengths and the areas that need the most attention, allowing us to make fast, efficient progress.

I also provide optional homework if you’d like to continue improving between lessons.
