About Mina
Hello! My name is Mina and I hold a degree in middle childhood education from the University of Akron, graduating summa cum laude. I have over 4 years of experience in tutoring a wide range of students in phonics, essay composition and general comprehension of historical events, documents and readings.
When I'm not tutoring, I love reading romance novels, baking cookies and trying my hand at a new craft! I believe that being a passionate lifelong learner helps me continually update my knowledge to give you the freshest information for your success. Students in kindergarten through high school are all welcome! I am deeply passionate about History and Language Arts. I believe that learning through engagement is best instead of lecture based learning.
My sessions will move at your pace. Instead of listening to long lectures, we will focus on learning in a hands-on format: analyzing primary source documents like detectives, becoming grammar masters through real-word editing exercises or just prepping outlines for your next big essay.
A typical 60 minute session looks like this:
0-10: Greetings, warm up, and challenges discussion
10-30: Dive into new material
30-50: Guided or Independent Practice
50-60: Wrap up and set goals for the next session
From 1st grade phonics to 12th grade historical essay work, my goal is to help the material stick in your brain through consistent practice.
In our first session, we’ll discuss your specific goals and challenges to create a personalized learning plan that works for you!
