About Misty
I am in 24th year of teaching. I have taught every grade level from K-8th grade. I believe that a child must feel safe and loved in order to be able to learn. I use a whole-child approach. My lessons are differentiated for all types of learners, including non-English speakers, ESE students, students with a variety of medical diagnoses and basic education students.

I am trained in Conscious Discipline and use a love and logic approach when teaching. I have my ESL and Reading endorsements, as well as my Exceptional Student Education certification. My teaching is grounded in the standards using explicit instructional practices and incorporating Kagan strategies to improve student engagement.
