About Mike

"What's learned with pleasure is learned full- measure"
My almost 2 decades of teaching and training in language has taught me that while students vary in styles, needs, and abilities, all learn best when they love what they do and when they know why they do it. I make sure that students enjoy learning as they build confidence and are grounded on their own will to learn. Language skills are learned better through exposure and practice.
I am a father of two wonderful children who love learning and speaking language, too. I take pride in having been a part of the English learning journey of many learners.
I love, live, and teach English!

About the lesson

I use a student-centered approach that blends scaffolded instruction, active learning, and real-world application. I begin by assessing each learner’s current knowledge, preferred learning style, and goals. Lessons combine concept explanation, guided practice, and independent application, with regular feedback loops to ensure mastery.

Typical Lesson Plan:

Warm-up & Review (5–10 min) – Quick recap of previous lesson and short diagnostic questions.
Concept Introduction (10–15 min) – Clear explanation with examples, visuals, or analogies.
Guided Practice (15–20 min) – Step-by-step problem-solving or skill application with my support.
Independent Practice (10–15 min) – Student works alone while I observe and assist as needed.
Reflection & Feedback (5 min) – Student summarizes what they learned; I provide targeted feedback.

I integrate metacognitive strategies so students learn how to learn, not just what to learn. My lessons are adaptive, culturally sensitive, and designed to build confidence alongside competence.
