Hello! I’m April, an experienced and certified ESL teacher from the Philippines with a Bachelor’s degree in English Language Studies. I have several years of experience teaching students from different backgrounds and English levels. I’m passionate about helping learners improve their communication skills, build confidence, and enjoy learning English. My Approach as an ESL Tutor

I believe that learning English should be practical, engaging, and centered around the student’s goals. With several years of experience teaching ESL learners, I use a student-centered approach that encourages learners to actively participate, express their ideas, and build confidence in using English in real-life situations.

Teaching Methods and Techniques
My lessons combine conversation practice, guided discussions, role-plays, pronunciation correction, vocabulary building, and grammar exercises. I adjust my teaching style according to each student’s level, learning pace, and goals. Rather than simply giving students the answers, I guide them to understand their mistakes and apply what they learn independently.

Typical Lesson Plan
A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up or review to activate the student’s existing knowledge. We then introduce the main topic, vocabulary, or language point. Most of the lesson is focused on guided practice and conversation, where students have opportunities to use the target language. I provide corrections and explanations throughout the lesson and finish with a short review and practical feedback.

I focus not only on accuracy but also on confidence and natural communication. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes because mistakes are an important part of learning. I also personalize my lessons instead of using the same approach for every learner.
