  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

Bonjour ! I am a French language expert with over 5 years of teaching experience. My journey with French began during my undergraduate studies, but it truly blossomed during my Master's at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), one of India's most prestigious institutions. I was captivated by the richness of the language, its history, and the culture it represents. What started as a subject soon became a passion. I found myself drawn to French literature, linguistics, and didactics-each revealing a new layer of beauty in the language.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

My biggest motivation to teach comes from the joy of making learning accessible, enjoyable, and meaningful. During my own learning journey, I was fortunate to have mentors who believed in me and nurtured my potential. I wanted to give back in the same way-to inspire confidence in learners who may think French is "too difficult" or "not for them." For me, every student's progress, no matter how small, is a victory. Teaching is not just a profession; it's a purpose.
  • How does your work help society?

Language opens doors educational, professional, and cultural. By teaching French, I help students connect with global opportunities: scholarships, international jobs, travel, and cultural exchange. I've taught young children, college students, and working professionals and in each case, the ability to communicate in a new language has empowered them. Language builds bridges, not walls-and in a diverse world, this is more important than ever.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

My role model is Dr. Probal Dasgupta, an eminent Indian linguist and polyglot. His dedication to making languages inclusive and accessible has always inspired me. Like him, I believe in promoting multilingualism and in respecting the learner's pace, background, and individuality. His vision reminds me that teaching a language is not just about grammar-it's about empowering voices.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside the classroom, I'm a traveler at heart and a storyteller by nature. I run a YouTube channel and blog where I explore languages, universities, and career options. I love reading world literature, writing poetry, and exploring hidden book markets and cafés. I also enjoy making short videos that combine education with real-life experiences.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One of my most memorable moments was teaching a young girl who had no prior exposure to French. She was hesitant and nervous, but after a few weeks, she began to form sentences confidently and even cracked jokes in French! Seeing her proudly present in front of her school made me emotional. It reminded me that belief and guidance can transform someone's journey and that's the real reward of teaching.
