I have been teaching high school history, coaching football, and in have been in education for over 20 years. The tutoring that I have done has been mostly at school after classes were over. Most of my students have gone on to college and have had successful lives.

When I teach, I like to use PowerPoints and other visuals to instruct. Then I use Bell Questions to check for understanding. I also use quizzes before the tests to check comprehension of material and see what needs to be reviewed before the unit assessment. When I tutor, I like to see what the student knows first and then build off of that and add content that they are struggling with to prepare them for their own tests. In doing prep for the AP Exam, we will work on all four phases of the test, 55 multiple choice questions, Short-Answer Questions, Long Essay, and DBQ Essay. We will work on skills and I have tips for each part, and we will take practice portions and a mock exam. I will provide hand outs and other materials for students.

I don’t charge for travel expenses inside of the 50 mile radius from my house. But if I have to travel beyond the 50 mile radius, which I will, it’s $20 extra. I will provide hand outs and other materials for students, especially if they are preparing for the AP World History Exam, at no additional charge.
