As a tutor, I combine structure with creativity. My name is Hala, and I’ve been teaching since 2013. I hold a Professional Educator License in the state of Illinois and have over a decade of experience working with diverse learners, including students with IEPs and 504s. I specialize in tutoring students from kindergarten through eighth grade, with a particular focus on reading, writing, and social studies.

My lessons are designed to be engaging, rigorous, and tailored to each learner’s strengths and needs. I typically start with a warm-up or review to activate prior knowledge, followed by a mini-lesson targeting a specific skill or standard. From there, we move into guided practice with frequent checks for understanding—this is where I shine. I’m constantly assessing, adjusting, and supporting. Students often end with an independent task or a self-reflection activity so they can build autonomy and take ownership of their learning.
