**About Me – Leslie** Hello! My name is Leslie, and I’m from China. I am currently pursuing a degree in Education with a focus on Children’s Visual Arts at Xi’an Eurasia University. I’ve always believed in the power of education to connect people and share culture, and that’s why I’m passionate about teaching Chinese to international students. I have experience teaching both children and adults, and I truly enjoy helping learners discover the beauty of the Chinese language and culture. I believe learning should be creative, engaging, and personal—so I use storytelling, visuals, and real-life conversations in my lessons to make Chinese come alive. I chose to become a teacher because I love working with people, sharing knowledge, and watching students grow with confidence. It brings me joy to see someone go from not understanding a word to being able to have a simple conversation in Chinese—and knowing I helped make that possible is incredibly rewarding. I look forward to learning with you!

About the lesson

**Teaching Methods and Approach:** My Chinese tutoring sessions are interactive, student-centered, and adapted to each learner’s level and goals. I use a combination of visual aids, real-life scenarios, storytelling, and cultural elements to enhance language acquisition and make learning engaging. I integrate foundational grammar and vocabulary with listening, speaking, reading, and writing practice. I also draw from my background in visual arts education to incorporate creative and immersive techniques, especially for younger learners. **Typical Lesson Duration:** Each lesson typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the student's age and concentration level. For younger students, I may recommend shorter, more frequent sessions. **Qualifications and Experience:** * Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Xi’an Eurasia University. * Strong foundation in pedagogy and educational psychology. * Certified in Standard Mandarin (Second Level, Grade A). * Certified Asia Experiential Education Facilitator. * Teaching assistant in multiple departments at Xi’an Eurasia University. * Experience as an English teacher at a primary school in Xi’an. * Course leader and co-founder of the “Electric Treasure Dream Factory” education project with the State Grid of China. * Over 20 awards at the national, provincial, and municipal levels. * Participation in more than 10 educational forums and research projects. **Target Audience:** My courses are suitable for: * Beginners to intermediate learners of Chinese. * Children aged 6–15, especially those interested in visual or story-based learning. * International students looking to build conversational skills or understand Chinese culture through language.
