About Rita
I am a certified mathematics teacher who has 27 years of actual classroom experience. I have been privately tutoring students for the past 7 years both online and in person. I specialize in 4th through 8th grade curricula, algebra I, II, & III, geometry, advanced math, pre-calculus, calculus, trigonometry, finite math, discrete math, college algebra, ACT test prep, college entrance/placement exam prep, and statistics. I can also assist you in your writing endeavors including essays and term papers.

As a teacher, I use the inquiry method during each lesson. I am constantly questioning my students to make sure understanding is occurring and all knowledge gaps are closed. I am also looking for places where I can make problem-solving more clear and easier. I have a gift for making hard subjects easier and I have many tricks and techniques that can help learners retain what they are learning. My classroom experience and one-on-one tutoring experience gives me a definite edge over others because I can often identify the root cause of student difficulty very quickly. If I am teaching a course, I create well-sequenced lesson plans to ensure all subject matter is covered. When private tutoring, I provide the help that the student needs, whether it involves concept clarification, homework help, or modeling.
