About Valerie
I am a math education major from Concordia University Chicago. In order to achieve this degree, and I had to major in both math and education. During college, I was hand selected by professors to assist in courses, grading, and tutoring of all levels. I have taught remedial math in the middle and high school levels, and all the way up to advanced courses. I have a genuine love of math, and a deep understanding. I generally have multiple approaches to show students, and always try and create a meaningful connection to real-life.

I believe in student led learning. My approach focuses on the particular student’a strengths and weaknesses. I tie in real life examples, student interests, and I put an emphasis on creating meaningful connections. I do not just teach to memorize, I teach for true conceptual understanding. Learning is not “one size fits all”; each child is unique and deserves to be taught as such.
