About Martin

Hello, how are you ? I’m Martin

I’m a proud dad of 2 children and 1 dog, a sports lover (tennis, hiking, weight training), and I enjoy traveling.

I work part-time as a chiropractor. This gives me the time and energy to teach students Norwegian.

I have a double bachelor's degree in Sciences and Chiropractic. I also have a TEFL certificate, which has taught me how to effectively teach a language.

I've taught hundreds of students at a chiropractic school for over 11 years. My greatest joy as a teacher is watching students progress and grow over time.

One of my best qualities is that I speak five languages. I speak Norwegian, English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish. This helps make learning easier with me. I have lived and worked in many countries besides Norway. These include Portugal, Australia, Peru, Brazil and France.

I am also told by my closest friends and family that I am very patient when it comes to teaching.

About the lesson

My lessons are fully tailored to your specific needs and level, but here are the things that I can support with:
· Getting your Norwegian level from A0/A1 all the way up to C1
· Norwegian for health professionals (such as myself)
· Business Norwegian (presentations, meetings, job interviews…)
· Preparing for the Norwegian exam: Norskprøven

My way of teaching is practical and structured, as well as fun and friendly.

I enjoy the flipped classroom method. Students know what will be covered next, so they can prepare ahead of time. Materials will be provided for this. This way, we can focus on the fun things during class: guided conversations, vocabulary games, or any tasks you need to finish.

Some of the resources I may use during our lessons include På Vei, Stein på Stein, and Her på Berget. I’ll make these available to you when relevant.

I will also try to bring in some cultural aspects from Norway in every lesson, so that you can learn more about the country.

In my classes, you won’t just learn vocabulary or grammar, you’ll use Norwegian in a practical and a real way.

I take my student’s objectives seriously. I believe that the fastest results are achieved when the learning experience is enjoyable.

So my lessons are fun, structured and effective.

In our first session, we will get to know each other, assess your level, and create a personalized plan for your learning journey.

We will also have you speaking and practicing from the very first lesson, in a progressive and natural way. We work with real-life situations, useful vocabulary and structures that are used in everyday life.
