About Emilee
I am a young woman who has devoted my life to sharing my love of reading. I took this course with my future children in mind, and am now honored to be sharing my love of reading with people who have lost all confidence in their ability to read. I have conducted intervention tutoring with three students who were diagnosed with dyslexia. It has been a joy to see their growth due to their perseverance and patience. I have also witnessed this program work for students who have no learning disabilities. Reading is a gift that is capable of transforming your life. I would love to help you discover reading for yourself.

Structured, multisensory methods of teaching reading, writing, and spelling, are especially effective for students with dyslexia. It combines visual, auditory, and kinesthetic (touch) learning styles to help students understand language in a way that matches how they process information. This is highly individualized, making it ideal for students who need extra support with reading challenges. Orton-Gillingham has been scientifically proven to aid in dyslexia, by providing a systematic decoding method to reading. This approach to reading works well with all readers and has proven successful in many scientific studies. My lessons can be tailored to the specific needs of students. - We target the alphabet phonetically while focusing on letter teams that make different sounds when used together. - Learn decoding strategies and spelling rules. - Build up fluency in blending sounds. Additionally, this method has proven effective for students who struggle with spelling and handwriting.
