About Marilyn

With a career spanning nearly 30 years, Marilyn’s professional journey has taken her from military nursing to the skies as a VIP Flight Attendant for the South African Air Force, where she had the honor of serving dignitaries—including the late President Nelson Mandela. Her career in diplomacy and the exposure to executive circles eventually led her to serve as a South African diplomat in Hong Kong, where she refined her expertise in State Protocol, cross-cultural communication, public affairs, and international networking. Marilyn holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Corporate Branding and Event Design from the University of Hong Kong Space and is a certified Image Consultant, blending academic depth with real-world insight. She is respected in her industry, and serves as President of the International Professional Image Association, serves as a member of the Services SETA Chamber Committee for Personal Care, where she contributes to shaping industry standards and professional development across the personal branding and etiquette sectors. She is also a proud member of the South African Council for Business Women, actively contributing to the advancement of women in business and leadership. Her unique background enables her to bring an insider’s perspective on how image, etiquette, and presence can impact access, credibility, and influence—especially in executive and leadership spaces. Marilyn’s speaking style is both refined and deeply resonant—grounded in experience, and enriched by global exposure. She is passionate about helping professionals show up with intention, speak with authority, and lead with distinction—whether they are stepping into the boardroom or representing their brand on the global stage.
