About Elena
I was only 8 years old when I touched a piano for the first time.
I took music and theory classes and completed the teaching certification coursework.
My classes are 45 minutes long. The first 15 minutes, I devote to teaching new material. We delve into the history and making of the music and also important information about the piece of music we’re learning about. The following 20 minutes we break down the music and learn to play it on the piano and the final 10 minutes we revisit what you’ve been working on from previous classes.

Music is fun. Learning how to play a musical instrument is not only fun, it is art. Performing for yourself, your loved ones and friends is a way to communicate your feelings and an opportunity to share what you’ve learned about music and its history. The stories we tell with music are stories well thought out, they have a beginning, a main body and an ending. A music piece is a story waiting to be retold using your talent and your personality.
Music to me is learning about those who came before me, their stories. Every time I play a famous piece of music, it sounds a bit different, like rereading a good book.
