About Sarah
I am a certified science teacher in two states with collegiate studies in Biology and Marine Science from Jacksonville University. I have taught science to 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, as well as high school biology. I love the experimentation process in the sciences and enjoy sharing the amazing world of science with others.

As a science tutor, my approach combines inquiry-based learning with clear, structured guidance. I emphasize making science engaging and relatable by connecting concepts to real-world applications. My lessons are designed to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of the subject matter. I incorporate diverse teaching techniques, such as hands-on experiments, visual aids, interactive simulations, and tailored practice problems to reinforce key concepts.
I also believe in fostering a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring their ideas. For more advanced topics like high school biology, I guide students through detailed analysis and application of scientific principles, preparing them for assessments and future studies.
A typical lesson includes a review and recall of prior knowledge, introduction of current or new topic, activity or experiment, and review of knowledge gained. Lessons are tailored to middle grades students 5th - 8th and high school biology students.
