My teaching method is focused on communication and the four skills (reading, listening, writing, and speaking). My goal is to tailor my lessons to my students’ linguistic needs. That is, how they will use the language outside of the classroom setting.
To achieve this goal my lessons focus on completing specific activities that mirror how my students will use Spanish with native speakers in their daily lives.
Grammar and mechanics do play a key role in my teaching method, however, it is not the end goal. Instead, grammar serves as the means to the end goal: students who can confidently use Spanish!
