About John
I studied history as an undergraduate in New Hampshire and completed my Masters in Education in NYC. My classroom experience was initially as a para in a special education school working with elementary and middle school students. As a head teacher I have worked elementary through high school.
Additionally I have maintained long term individual tutoring relationships with special needs youth in social skills.

Primarily working with special needs youngsters a good relationship is key. I work to create a fun and easy dialogue that makes learning feel natural and not such a chore.
Initially lessons will begin working on the comprehension of instructions and school given assignments. After talking through ideas we begin the next steps of doing the work.
The focus is making sure the child understands the material and is not just rushing through.
