About Lyndi

I have spent the past 16 years working with children as a Special Education teacher, and supporting students with diverse learning needs has always been the work I care about most. I love helping children discover that they can learn, even when school has felt frustrating or overwhelming for them in the past.

Over the years, I have worked with students with a wide range of learning profiles, including ADHD, autism, and other learning differences. These experiences have helped me develop a patient, flexible approach that focuses on meeting each child where they are and building skills step by step.

Families often tell me that one of my strengths is helping children feel comfortable and confident while learning. I believe students make the most progress when they feel supported, understood, and encouraged.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy spending time outdoors, gardening, and working on projects around my home. I believe curiosity and lifelong learning are important for both children and adults, and I try to bring that same spirit of curiosity and encouragement into my lessons.

About the lesson

My lessons are individualized to meet each child exactly where they are. With over 16 years of experience as a certified Special Education teacher, I specialize in helping children with diverse learning needs build confidence and make meaningful progress in reading, writing, and math.

I use structured, research-based strategies and break skills into manageable steps so students can experience success. Lessons are paced according to each child’s learning style and may include visual supports, hands-on activities, repetition, and positive reinforcement to help skills stick.

My background in Special Education and experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) allows me to support students who benefit from additional structure, clear expectations, and encouragement. I focus not only on academic growth, but also on helping students feel capable and motivated as learners.

I currently provide in-person tutoring in the Knoxville area and work with children of various ages whose academic skills are at the elementary level.

My goal is always to create a supportive learning environment where children feel safe to try, make mistakes, and grow.
