About Nate
I have taught 5th-6th grade English and Social studies for three years in an inter-city school. I have taught in-person, hybrid, and virtual classes. I believe that learning should be challenging and fun. I often play music and juggle during lessons, and find creative ways to engage my students. I have helped many online students become better readers and I have a lot of confidence in the Science of Reading. My lessons will be skill-based and provide you with tools that will improve your reading ability.

During the pandemic, I learned how to engage my students online. I learned that "buy in" is the key to student success online (and in-person!). I always try to help students grow their love of learning by designing dynamic online lessons that are interactive and require participation from students. I often use music and juggling to capture the attention of my students. Most of my lessons will be focused on reading skills and word morphology (breaking words into their meaningful parts). I'm going to focus my instruction on 4th-6th grade material.
