About Tanya
Education has been my passion for as long as I can remember! Whether working one-to-one, in small groups, or in a whole-class setting, I have greatly enjoyed being involved in helping people learn. I was fortunate enough to have very professional, understanding teachers myself. From these teachers who helped me so much, to the co-workers who have shared various techniques, I have had the opportunity to grow and learn many valuable ideas and philosophies. I am a life-long learner, and my greatest achievement has been reaching students and helping them to realize their potential.

I strongly believe that teaching is more than explaining facts. In my 10+ years of experience in teaching and tutoring, I have focused on multiple learning styles, keeping in mind that people learn in various ways and at different speeds. I believe that patience and encouragement are basic necessities in order to help learners. Also, all individuals deserve to be treated with respect and understanding. People of all ages have a greater ability to learn when they know that they are emotionally safe and free to ask questions.
My education strategy is also based on helping students learn HOW to learn, instead of just WHAT to learn. In this way, students gain confidence and become increasingly independent in their ongoing learning experiences.
