About Alexis
I am a certified elementary teacher with a Master’s in Education and four years of classroom experience. I specialize in phonics and spelling with Orton-Gillingham training, as well as reading, writing, and math for Grades 1–6. As an educator, I believe success comes from strong relationships as much as strong lessons. I create a supportive, encouraging space where students feel safe to try, make mistakes, and grow. My teaching is patient, structured, and tailored to each child’s needs, with an emphasis on building confidence and celebrating progress. I strive to be both a teacher and mentor—fostering curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning that lasts beyond the classroom.

I offer tutoring for Grades 1–6 in phonics, spelling, reading, writing, and math. My lessons are student-centered, structured, and tailored to individual needs. Using the Orton-Gillingham approach, I provide multi-sensory strategies that help students strengthen decoding, spelling, and reading comprehension skills.
Math lessons focus on number sense, problem-solving, and building confidence with foundational and advanced concepts. Each session includes review, guided instruction, and practice activities designed to match the student’s learning style.
I believe in creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, learning from mistakes, and celebrating progress. Families can expect clear communication, encouragement, and measurable growth over time.
