My name is Jennifer Fayn. I am a certified teacher in the state of Texas offering History lessons to primary, middle, and high school students. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.
My lessons are structured as follows:
*Introduction to the topic/concept
*Quick notes with major details
*Discussion about the impact of the event/topic
*Project assignment to facilitate better understanding of topic/concept
My characteristics as a teacher:
*I love getting to know my students! I want to learn about what your passions are, you goals, how you learn, etc.
*I want to use your learning style to your benefit! If you need more visual representations or more lecture style lessons, let me know! I can certainly make it work for you! My goal is to tailor the lessons to meet YOUR needs, not mine!
I can't wait to meet you and get started!
How long have I been giving lessons?
*I have been teaching/tutoring history, as well as English/Reading and math, for almost 3 years.
*I have taught middle and high school social studies.
How many students have I taught?
*I have taught almost 300 students in the span of 3 years!
What results have my students achieved thanks to me?
*I have seen previously failing students not only achieve a passing grade but turn their F into an A average! I have seen students go from misunderstanding and misrepresenting a specific topic in history to becoming a well-spoken 'expert' on it in a matter a few lessons with me. My students have refined skills like critical thinking, analyzing arguments/documents, and creating/supporting arguments within history thanks to my teaching methods.
