About Ashinique

The energy I bring to my lessons, is a huge part of why my students enjoy my teaching style and keep coming back for lessons. I enjoy teaching! :D
I've seen my students make major progress, in just a few lessons! My students on average learn around 3-4 new words EACH lesson, as well as focused grammar and phonetic concepts! English is my native language, (I can speak French and Spanish too!) and coming from New York City (born and raised) the different nuances of English are sometimes missed in a more formal setting, and sometimes these nuances aren't taught (but I make sure to teach these things :D ). English is spoken in many different ways across the United States and this is important to me. I've gotten the opportunity to teach people from all over the world! Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Uzbekistan, Switzerland and even France! I have a bachelors degree with a double major in History and Global Studies as well as a double minor in Psychology and French! I'm a very patient person by nature and when it comes to teaching (and learning), this is a skill that one MUST have and one that is often overlooked. I want you to be open, and gain confidence, no matter your English proficiency, no matter your skill level, because we all have to start somewhere. I hope to see you soon! :D

About the lesson

My approach to teaching English involves a combination of traditional and new methods, while staying centered on you. Your voice is what matters most. This is about YOU! My lessons are interactive, fun, and will motivate you to continue learning OUTSIDE of the lesson. I also love to end my lessons with a Wordle >:D I love to use visuals such as pictures, slideshows, movies, and YouTube videos. I keep my notebook handy with all important notes and I encourage my students to keep a tiny notebook as well. The impact that writing has on speaking is IMPORTANT! My lessons will challenge you and really motivate you! From basic to advanced levels, I've created lessons that will teach you something new each time. I’m here to help you reach YOUR language goals. :D We can (and will) focus on reading, writing, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and listening skills, whatever you desire. The lessons will be catered to YOUR goals and specific needs. I'll help you get there. Again, I hope to see you soon! ^~^
