About Lydie
I live in Canada, and I have a love for coffee, travelling, languages and teaching. I have been teaching French for the past ten years in multiple countries (UK, USA, Canada,China). I am a native language French speaker from France. I was raised there and lived there for most of my life (+20 years).
Teaching from a place of compassion and care is important to me. I want my student's success to be my top priority and for them to leave my class on a positive note.
I have taught to a wide range of individuals from kids to adults. I have spent 1 year teaching french to kids from 5-8 years in a private institution in England. I have taught private french classes to Business Professionals, Students, immigrants, and people eager to just learn more about the french language.
I currently live in Québec (where French is a requirement in most school places), and it has been a true opportunity for me to meet people who are eager to learn my beautiful native language!

Are you a newcomer to Canada and want to improve your knowledge of the French language? Are you located in a place where French is the #1 language? Are you already an expert, but want to deepen your knowledge of the French language?
After training in France with the FLE (the official French national education center for the French language), I earned my DAEFLE diploma (French national certification to teach French abroad) in only one year. My specialisation was in teaching immigrants and newcomers. Here are the modules I offer:
- Phonetics.
- Listening.
- Writing, and reading comprehension.
- DELF preparation.
- Customised lessons.
I have a real love for the French language, and I had to adapt myself to another culture, another language, and having lived abroad for many years, I am no stranger to the various requirements of second language exams. I am fluent in English, and I know the challenges of learning a language.
I love people, and I want to provide a caring, dynamic teaching experience.
