About Roopini
I’m a certified music educator with a Master’s degree in Music Education from Kingston University, London. Additionally, I have over 10 years learning experience in Western, Hindustani, and Carnatic styles. Over the past decade, I’ve been fortunate to perform alongside legendary artists like A. R. Rahman, playback singer Srinivas, and Carnatic maestro Aruna Sairam. My performance journey has taken me to stages across both India and the UK. As an educator, I have designed music curricula, led vocal courses, choirs, workshops, and authored music books for schools and academies.
My teaching approach blends technicality with creativity, aiming to inspire a deep, long-lasting connection with music.

In my classes, we begin with breath work and vocal warm-ups that lay the foundations for a healthy singing voice. We then move on to singing your favourite song (be it Western pop, contemporary OR Indian film songs OR a bit of both!) applying the techniques we've just practiced. The goal is to help you sing with confidence, nuance, and expression. Drawing from both, my Western vocal training and Indian classical foundations I integrate the strengths of each style into a well-rounded learning experience. If you're interested in learning only music theory, the classes can be tailored to focus entirely on that as well.
These classes are ideal for students aged 16 and above, whether you're pursuing music seriously or simply learning for the joy of it!
