About Tarah

I’m a 27-year-old Chartered Accountant and qualified Tax Advisor from Dublin, with a strong academic background and a lifelong passion for Maths, Science, and problem-solving. I studied Chemistry at UCD before completing a postgraduate diploma in Accounting, and I'm also fluent in Irish, having attended a Gaelscoil.

Tutoring gives me the chance to share my love for numbers and logical thinking, and I find it incredibly rewarding to help students build confidence in subjects they once found challenging. I aim to make learning enjoyable and relatable, using real-life examples and clear explanations.

Outside of academics, I’m a keen sports player. Years of team sports have helped me develop strong communication, patience, and organisational skills—all of which I bring into my teaching approach.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is structured, personalised, and goal-driven. I believe that real progress starts with a clear long-term objective whether it’s excelling in an upcoming exam, improving overall confidence in a subject, or bridging gaps in understanding.

Every lesson is designed with those goals in mind. I understand that every student has a different method of learning, therefore I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s preferred way of learning,whether they’re visual, practical, or more theory-focused—so they can get the most out of each session. Lessons are engaging, interactive, and always centred on helping the student feel like they’re making real progress.

While having clear goals is important, my lessons are always flexible and fully tailored to the student's needs. I understand that these needs can change from week to week—whether it's preparing for an upcoming exam, tackling a tricky homework assignment, or revising a particular topic. Whatever the focus, I adapt each lesson to ensure the student gets the support they need, when they need it.

Feedback plays a key role in how I teach. I provide regular, constructive feedback to help students understand where they’re improving and where more focus is needed. I also welcome feedback from students and parents—open communication ensures we’re always moving in the right direction and helps create a supportive learning environment.

Above all, I want students to enjoy their lessons and feel empowered by them. When a student starts to believe in their own ability and sees results, that’s when real learning happen and that’s what I aim to deliver in every session.
