About Tay
I am a 24 year old Canadian, living in Australia for a few years! I am searching for work in the field of Chemical Engineering, having graduated in the past year from my Bachelors degree with distinction in Canada. I have a passion for the maths and sciences, being the reason I pursued engineering, and love working through problems with peers. This has allowed me to really enjoy the process of holding tutoring sessions over the past 6 years and develop very thorough teaching strategies.

I approach my sessions with very hands on and interactive methods. I encourage my students to talk through their problems and potential solutions, interacting with them in the meantime to bridge the retention gap between the textbook and what feels like common sense. I'm a firm believer that if you can explain a concept or a problem set out loud, you then and only then have thoroughly retained the concept. So, I like to get to know my students, ensuring they are comfortable in our sessions so I can present them with problem sets and we can talk through and complete the solutions together! I am comfortable completing a variety of lengths of sessions, virtually and in person. I have over 6 years of tutoring experience for maths and science subjects through years 7-12, and have completed routine sessions virtually over zoom and in person.
