About Matthew
I'm a master's student in Chemical Engineering at Loughborough University, tutoring maths, physics, chemistry, and TOEFL. I’ve worked as a teaching assistant at Aysgarth Prep School, where I supported students 1:1 and in small groups. I enjoy breaking down tricky topics and making learning feel approachable. Whether it’s simplifying physics or preparing for TOEFL speaking sections, I tailor my teaching style to each student’s needs. I love seeing that “lightbulb” moment when something finally clicks — and I aim to create a relaxed, supportive space where students genuinely enjoy learning.

Hi! I’m currently studying for my master’s in Chemical Engineering at Loughborough University, and I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand tricky topics—especially in maths, physics, chemistry, and TOEFL preparation. As a student myself, I know that everyone learns differently and has unique goals—whether it’s exam prep, catching up on schoolwork, or just building confidence in a subject. That’s why I adapt my teaching style to suit each student, keeping lessons light, relaxed, and something to look forward to rather than dread. I typically offer lessons between 40 minutes to an hour, but I’m flexible depending on your needs. I gained hands-on teaching experience as a teaching assistant at Aysgarth Prep School, voted the UK’s best prep school in 2023. There, I worked one-on-one and in small groups with students who needed a bit of extra support. I work with students aged 9 to 18 and have experience with both the IB and GCSE curricula. I’m also happy to work with other syllabi, given a little notice. If you're looking for a tutor who’s approachable, patient, and genuinely passionate about learning—let’s chat!
