About Zaara

Hi! I’m Zaara, a sophomore biochemistry major who genuinely enjoys helping students feel more confident in their learning. I have experience working with students of many different ages, from elementary students through college.

I understand that school can feel overwhelming, especially in math and science. My goal is to create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I take the time to explain concepts clearly, adjust my approach to each student’s learning style, and move at a pace that works best for them.

I’m reliable, patient, and fully prepared for each session. I care deeply about my students’ progress and take pride in being supportive, organized, and communicative with both students and families. Above all, I want students to leave each lesson feeling more capable and confident than when they started.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I focus on helping students build strong foundations and long-term confidence in their abilities. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s age, pace, and learning style. My approach is shaped by my experience tutoring elementary students as well as serving as a chemistry and physics teaching assistant, allowing me to work effectively with a wide range of learners!

Each session is structured but flexible and typically includes:
- A brief check-in to identify goals and areas of difficulty
- Clear explanation of key concepts
- Guided practice problems completed step-by-step
- Independent practice with immediate feedback
- A concise recap and plan for continued improvement

What sets me apart is my ability to teach both foundational skills and advanced STEM topics with patience and clarity. My background as an elementary tutor has strengthened my ability to support younger students in developing focus, discipline, and problem-solving habits, while my TA experience allows me to identify and correct common misconceptions in chemistry and physics efficiently. I strive to create a supportive, low-stress environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing academically!

I offer tutoring for:
Elementary students – math foundations, homework support, and independent learning skills
Middle and high school students – chemistry, physics, math, and exam preparation
College students – introductory chemistry and physics courses

Zaara helped me improve so much in math. Last year I was in regular and barely passing and this year but this year I’m in honors and feel so confident. My past tutors would charge me so much and teach me nothing but Zaara actually cared about my learning experience and help me improve so much. She’s so patient and would always encourage me to try again even when it was hard. She would always make worksheets to help me prepare for tests and was always on time. When I was around Zaara I felt comfortable with her and I wasn’t ashamed of making mistakes as experienced with past tutors. Zaara is a great tutor and I’m sure she will help you as much as she helped me.
