About Darren
I have an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and a Ph.D. In Chemistry where I specialized in environmentally relevant catalytic systems and material science. During graduate years I taught undergraduate chemistry courses (general, organic, and physical chemistry) and tutored as well. I have a foundational understanding of what students struggle with the most and how to overcome these barriers. After interactions with thousands of students, I understand their perspective that someone who just knows chemistry would otherwise be missing.

Anyone can learn any subject, we just need to find what type of learning aids in retention of information. I take a holistic approach that includes the subject information but also dive into what learning style (ie. Visual, auditory, hand-on, etc.) is most effective for the individual. I’ve taught college level chemistry courses and have worked with middle school to adults. I take great pride in seeing you succeed and once I begin working with you I become personally invested in your success.
