About Juliana
As a chemistry student at university, I spent 4 years as a teaching assistant for a variety of chemistry classes, including general chemistry, organic chemistry, biophysical chemistry, and advanced technical writing. I won teaching awards within my college for 2 of those 4 years.
After graduation in April 2019, I taught an organic chemistry class at a local community college, and continued tutoring there and privately to high school students. In total, I have over 2000 hours of tutoring experience in math, biology, and chemistry, both for high school and college students.

Hello! My name is Juliana and I have been a tutor since 2013. As students' learning styles vary, I work hard to find fun and unique teaching methods to explain the concepts effectively and help each student succeed. Instead of helping my students memorize facts that will promptly be forgotten, I try to teach the principles in a way that will make sense to each student. This often includes using analogies. I help students walk through problems, explaining their thought process and rationale as they go. As students understand what is being asked in the question, I can help them understand what steps to take to solve not only that specific problem, but also similar problems on their own. I believe that any student can succeed in assigned, age-appropriate coursework with appropriate assistance and encouragement.
