About Ruhi
I’m a current university student at SFU and a graduate of the IB Diploma program with IB Chemistry. Having completed the program myself, I know how intense and fast-paced the course can be, especially with the balance of theory, calculations, and application. I’ve always enjoyed understanding how things work at a deeper level, and I bring that same curiosity and clarity into my tutoring. My strength as a tutor comes from being able to explain difficult concepts in simple, logical steps. Because I’ve experienced the IB program firsthand, I understand how the exams are structured, what kinds of problems students struggle with, and how to build strong, reliable strategies to succeed. I’m patient, organized, and approachable. I make sure my students feel supported, not pressured, and I encourage questions and active learning in every lesson. Whether it’s reviewing tricky content, practicing calculations, or preparing for exams, I tailor each session to fit the student’s goals and pace. As a current university student at SFU and a graduate of the IB Diploma program with IB Chemistry, I understand how challenging the subject can be. Chemistry can feel overwhelming at times with its mix of theory, math, and application, which is why my approach focuses on simplifying complex ideas and building a strong understanding from the ground up.
My teaching methodology combines clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and targeted practice with IB-style questions. I emphasize understanding the concepts behind equations and reactions rather than just memorizing, so students can apply their knowledge confidently during exams.
