About Paddy
I am currently studying Medicine at the University of Manchester, having recently graduated from the University of Leeds with a BSc in Medicinal Chemistry (Upper Second Class Hons). I studied A levels in Biology, Maths and Chemistry achieving A*AA respectively. In my spare time, I am a grade 8 drummer and play in a band, whilst also playing football for the medic’s team at university. I also speak German to a conversational level.

My approach is that tutoring must be enjoyable and engaging, whilst maintaining a positive mindset towards learning and understanding content. This provides better motivation for students to undertake learning not only during the session but also in their own time. I focus on encouraging students to visualise difficult topics in ways they may not usually have the opportunity to do so in school, through use of visual learning techniques and repeated recall of newly learnt information throughout the session. Typically, a session would last 60 minutes with the pace of the session being dictated by both the students understanding and potential.

Paddy provided excellent tuition to my son last year, helping get his chemistry and biology GCSE grades up from a 3 to a 7. My son sometimes struggles to understand his teachers in school, and he commented on how personable lessons felt with Paddy and how he understood topics much more clearly through his use of analogies and clear explanations. I would definitely recommend for GCSE science tuition!

Please note - for in person lessons I am unable to offer the first in-person session for free, however I am more than happy to arrange a free online session should you prefer!
