About Joycelyn

Hi! I’m Joycelyn. While I care deeply about doing well in school, I also believe that learning should be fun, engaging, and something you actually enjoy. Outside the classroom, I’m a massive sports and gym enthusiast – staying active is a big part of who I am. Whether it's lifting weights or playing sports, I love the challenge, the discipline, and the energy it brings. I genuinely believe that consistency is the key to success – in fitness, academics, and life. And of course, it’s especially true when preparing for exams! Why I Love Tutoring: I’ve always been passionate about helping people achieve top grades, and I know from experience that once a student truly understands a topic and starts building confidence, they often grow to actually enjoy the subject. That’s what I’m here to help with. My aim isn’t just to help you do well in exams (though we’ll definitely focus on that!) — it’s also to help you build confidence, develop a love for learning, and feel supported along the way. I believe hard work, the right mindset, and a bit of fun can go a long way. I’m also a real people person – I love talking to others, building connections, and creating a space where students feel at ease. I want my tutoring sessions to feel relaxed, friendly, and enjoyable, while still being focused and effective.

About the lesson

Are you looking for support in A-Level or GCSE Chemistry and Maths? I’m a recent sixth form graduate with A* grades (and Grade 9s in GCSE) in both Chemistry and Maths, offering private tutoring to help students gain confidence, improve their understanding, and excel in exams. Throughout sixth form, I consistently ranked as one of the top achievers in Chemistry, which reflects not only my strong grasp of the subject but also my dedication and effective learning strategies. I’m passionate about explaining complex chemistry concepts in clear, simple ways, helping students to visualise and truly understand the material – not just memorise it. For Maths, I focus on breaking down tricky problems step by step, teaching problem-solving strategies that make even the hardest questions approachable. Having just completed sixth form myself, I understand the challenges students face and can relate to the pressures of school and exams. My teaching style is empathetic, patient, and flexible – I adapt each session to the individual needs of the student, ensuring they feel supported and confident.
