About Ivor
Hello everyone!
I am a keen and cheerful first-year university student reading Chemistry, and I've been tutoring for a few years now - ever since Year 8, actually, and on a more stringent and consistent basis since sixth form, as I used to volunteer at a local primary school.
I'm very passionate about languages and anything to do with cultures, as I've travelled around the world and speak a couple of languages as well. In my free time I like to volunteer where needed; before moving away from home to university, I used to volunteer at an organisation which aimed to tell a bedtime story to children in my town in several local hospitals - it was a truly inspiring experience that's taught me diligence and patience.
I'm more than happy to talk more about my experience with UCAS applications and pre-university exams as well, as I understand this can be very stressful.

I usually follow this lecture plan with my tutees, it's something that helped me a lot and what my tutor used to do with me as well, and it helped immensely:
-We use past papers as a warm up, 1 or 2 questions to start off!
-You share any questions you might have (this actually makes my part a lot easier, as I know what to focus on) or are not sure about, and we can talk in more depth and breadth as we go.
-I explain the theory/concepts you're struggling with, and I'll often remind you of them as we progress further into the lecture.
-I'll prepare a few past paper questions for you to do until next time, but nothing that'd take too much of your time!
